The Revolution of May two hundred years later

Abstract

The Bicentenary forces us to read again the historical process of our countries. The emancipation war took place in a complex scenery full of contradictory interests. That is why the Independence war turned into Civil wars throughout ancient Spanish colonnies, while other power countries’ greed – such as France, Portugal and the United Kingdom – was faught against. Many of the renovation proposals made by the revolutionaries remain still unresolved, which shows the validity of their thoughts towards the construction of Our America’s Emancipation.
