The Specificity of Social welfare: some reflexive notes
Abstract
The present paper aimed at providing a contribution to the debate associated with the policy specificities of the Social Work. Its policy implications in terms of legal foundations and theoretical production were reexamined. As to the assignment of the already mentioned policies to specific targets, the study indicated that, despite the universality of their historical origins, at present, actions are being directed mostly, but not only, to the broader domains of shelter and social life, as measures are being taken towards the generation of income. The main conclusions of the dissertation point to the need to continue the study on the specificities of the Social Work policies so as to broaden the debate over the construction of the meaning of social policy in the contemporary world.Key words – Social policy.
