Abstract

The maturity model is a useful tool for identifying what needs to be measured and how, in relation to a specific topic in an organization, in order to determine its situation and decide what needs to be done to achieve a higher maturity level. Nowadays, there are many knowledge management maturity models, however in many cases there is not sufficient detail regarding how they should be applied or they have been sufficiently evaluated. The objective of this research is to evaluate a knowledge management maturity model using the Multiple Correspondence Analysis. The knowledge management maturity model selected was applied in two organizations in Brazil using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Multiple Correspondence Analysis. The main results show: the existence of three profiles (little or no knowledge management activity, adoption and use of knowledge management, integration of knowledge management with the external environment); the existence of two dimensions (knowledge management marginal gains and knowledge management application) that explain the profiles; the appropriateness of the maturity model stages considered in the analyzed model; and the need to further the analysis of the key factors considered in the analyzed model.
