The relation between scolarity and indicators of employment and unemployment
Abstract
This paper aims to examine the relationship between scolarity and indicators of employment and unemployment, considering the changes occuring at the labor market over the years. Considering the data from PED-RMPA (Survey of Employment and Unemployment in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre) and FEE (Foundation for Economic Affairs and Statistics), between the years of 1993 and 2008, one notices a greater requirement of scolarity in order to "enter" the labour market. However, most of the employees are those who have completed high school, and not those with a university degree.Downloads
