O chamado pentecostal e o espírito do capitalismo: desejo e ética do trabalho de Deus em Gana

Resumen

En este artículo examino la relación entre valor y virtud, utilidad y convicción, en el pentecostalismo global a través de un análisis económico-teológico de la llamada al ministerio. La clásica evaluación de Max Weber sobre Beruf (llamada, vocación, profesión) se ocupaba de la transvaloración del ascetismo religioso en una ética económica secular en los albores de la modernidad. Hoy observamos un proceso inverso: la transvaloración del tercer espíritu del capitalismo en una ética del trabajo de Dios que quiere ser virtuosa, escatológica y profesional. Basándome en una investigación etnográfica realizada en el seminario de una confesión transnacional de Ghana, muestro cómo este englobamiento teológico de lo económico está impulsado por una noción específica de llamada: fluida, desmitificada y asociada a una pedagogía del deseo.
