Most definitions of globalization agree on the fact that the role of the national state seems to become less and less important. If this is true, which place have indi-viduals as citizens? Is political participation still possible? This essay aims to offer a (minimally normative) theory of the role of the citizen in time of globalization, stretching out the possibilities offered by new forms of political community (interna-tional organizations etc.). Key words: Patriotism; constitution; nation state; globalization; political com-munity.Downloads
