The intention of this essay is to expand the thesis of movement society (Bewegungsgesellschaft) and defend it intensively. Different to the preceding publi-cation from Neidhardt and Rucht, in which this concept was originally formulated, it is not discussed here a systematization of the stabilization conditions of the social movements, but the importance and function of social movements in the historical and current modernity. Key words: Social movements; modernity; social change.Downloads
