The current work explores the question of military borders based on the study of the chilean case in which the border demarcation problem was solved across time by the means of land mines. Intended to show the problems related to the border theory through the realisation of an incursion in its geographical, political and diplomatic aspects. Therefore, the objective is to highlight the question of military border as a concept in which the resources have been inadequate, since it proves itself to be incapable of solving contemporary problems, as well as the real and contemporary necessity of the International Relations actors, as well as to show the necessity of land mines disarmament.
