From our personal experiences, which we lived as researchers on the streets in Bogotá, Colombia, this paper studies the consequences of constructing a stray ethnography as a result of understanding the “street” based on people who have lived it. Moreover, we propose that the street is an analytic concept in the social sciences, characterized for being multi-located, multi-temporal and polyphonic. The street is composed of power relations between different subjects who set it up and give its meaning.
