Abstract

: The Youth and Political Participation project at the Irmão Rui Marista Social School trains young people in situations of social vulnerability to act in public spaces, promoting understanding and guaranteeing basic rights in an unequal society. The students undergo preparation in the area of Human Sciences, including reading, research and assemblies, and receive training to occupy public spaces, such as the Ribeirão Preto City Council, becoming Youth Parliamentarians with a mandate of up to three years. This engagement follows Paulo Freire's liberating education, promoting students' protagonism in social transformation.

Graduated in Full Degree in Geography from the Barão de Mauá University Center, in Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil; graduated in Degree in Pedagogy from the Claretian University Center, in Batatais, SP, Brazil; postgraduate in Applied Human and Social Sciences and the World of Work, in the area of ​​education at the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), in Teresina, PI, Brazil.
