Abstract

The present work conceptualizes the e-book, its characteristics and relates it to digital collections and its existence in libraries. It addresses the differentiation of copyright in printed and digital formats and the impact caused by it so that libraries can have digital books in their collections. It also deals with questions regarding the school libraries of the Rede Marista and how they can now have e-books, being presented a guide with the procedures for registering in the Pergamum database.
