Democracy and critical Social Psychology

Abstract

This article is about interdisciplinary in Social Psychology. It works on the controversy and some points of convergence between two of the principal currents of the political contemporary science that focus the deliberative democracy: the communicative perspective of the philosopher Jürgen Habermas and the theory of the rational choice through the optics of the political scientist Jon Elster. It’s a study, supported by bibliographical revision, that tries to indicate the way like each one of these two theories defines and fits theoretically the relative problems to the processes of deliberation. By the way of conclusion, there are some indicated consequences been derived from two presented points of view and what are relevant for the critical schools of Social Psychology.
