Game theory and the study of cooperation from an evolutionary approach

Game Theory is a mathematical approach that analyses formally conflict and cooperation. It is a scientific approach applicable to the construction of knowledge in many different areas such as Economy, Politics, Biology, Psychology and Sociology. We present in this article its application to the study of cooperation from an evolutionary approach and we believe this methodology can help researchers to understand the mechanisms that lead us to collaborate or to cheat in our social interactions. A theoretical description and a a few examples of its application are presented.Downloads
