Abstract

Over the last decades, significant changes occurred in the Public Health area, including the implementation of the Family Health Strategy (FHS), which has demanded new technologies of the “doing” in health. In this sense, the objective was to assess the experience o FHS users in a group of health promotion in the community. This is a descriptive exploratory study that used the thematic content analysis method for the qualitative analysis of the material. Six open interviews were conducted with participants from Group. The analysis of the interviews allowed determining two thematic categories: Group Conceptions and Perceptions of Change. It is concluded that the Group is viewed as a space for entertainment, and one that facilitates bonding and leisure, in addition to helping in the development of a mutual support network and, also, a greater interaction between the health team and users with the aim of providing changes in their psychosocial aspect and quality of life.
