Aspectos psicológicos da gravidez na adolescência

Na gestação, a vinculação entre a mãe e seu bebê pode ser investigada através do estudo das expectativas maternas. Os objetivos do estudo foram verificar os motivos que as adolescentes gestantes atribuíram à gravidez, suas reações quanto à gravidez e suas expectativas quanto à gestação e ao bebê. Participaram do estudo 9 adolescentes gestantes primíparas, que moravam com o pai do bebê. Foi utilizada uma entrevista que investigou as expectativas quanto à gravidez e ao bebê. As entrevistas foram submetidas à análise de conteúdo. O motivo atribuído à gravidez foi a falta de cuidado. As reações à gravidez foram variadas. A escolaridade e a rede de apoio social pareceram ser importantes fatores para a continuidade dos estudos. Algumas diferenças apareceram entre as expectativas das gestantes adolescentes e as de mulheres adultas relatadas na literatura, possivelmente apontando para a necessidade de um atendimento diferenciado a adolescentes nos serviços de pré-natal.

ABSTRACT

Psychological aspects of teenage pregnancy
During pregnancy the bond between mother and child can be predicted through the investigation of maternal expectations.The aims of this study were to investigate the reasons teenagers have atrributed to their unplanned pregnancy, their reactions concerning pregnancy and their expectations concerning the pregnancy and the baby. The sample included 9 adolescents who were primiparous and were married or were cohabiting with the baby’s father. An interview was used to access the teenagers’ expectations about pregnancy and the baby. The interviews were analyzed for content. The main reason attributed to pregnancy was carelessness. Their reactions were varied. Schooling and the social network seemed to be important factors to the continuation of the studies. Some differences emerged between pregnant teenagers’ expectations and adult women’s expectations from the literature, possibly indicating the need for a special prenatal service directed to pregnant teenagers.
