O Uso da Bicicleta como Meio de Transporte: Influência de Fatores Psicológicos. Uma Revisão de Literatura

Resumo

O uso massivo de transporte sustentável, tais como andar de bicicleta, exige tanto mudanças na infra-estrutura das cidades, quanto uma mudança de comportamento. Assim, é preciso conhecer as motivações que determinam a escolha do transporte. O objetivo foi analisar quais são as variáveis psicológicas que predizem melhor o uso de bicicletas como modo de transporte, através de uma revisão sistemática da literatura dos últimos 10 anos. Os resultados da análise indicaram que a escolha da bicicleta como meio de transporte está determinada por processos intencionais. A intenção de usar esse meio principalmente está associada com o apoio social percebido, com a percepção da capacidade de realizar o comportamento (autoeficácia) e, em menor medida, com uma atitude positiva em relação a ele. Porém, uma vez que andar de bicicleta tornou-se um comportamento habitual, a influência dos processos racionais enfraquece. Isto sugere que a formulação de políticas que procuram aumentar a mobilidade sustentável deve contemplar estratégias diferentes segundo a frequência de uso deste modo de transporte.
