Abstract

This text is derived from a study on the relationship between subjectivity, masculinity and violence. It reflects on the process of construction and deconstruction of the subjectivity of male perpetrators of violence against women. The data were collected through participant observation of a therapeutic group process and interviews with participants of this group. The organization of the collected data was performed basing in Grounded Theory criteria’s and the analysis was done basing in the study of narratives. This article focuses on a depth narrative analysis of one of the participants from this research. The idea is thinking questions directed to the individual or group psychosocial man‘s attention. The results showed the interconnectedness of the social construction of male subjectivity and acts of violence, do reference to particularities and strategies that are important to improve the effectiveness of interventions in the sector.
