Abstract

This article presents a reflection on Social Service in the business sector and the demands for social workers who faced the challenges present in the 1960s and 1990s. It contextualizes the insertion of this professional in an electric energy company in the state of Minas General and presents elements to understand this socio-occupational space and contribute to the theoretical, technical and academic improvement of social workers inserted in this field of activity.

Graduated in Social Assistance from Centro Universitário UNA (2011), specialist in Public Health (2014), Master in Social Work from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. CAPES scholarship holder. Researcher in the Socio-Environmental Management Research Group and the Interface with the Social IssueGESTA (Franca) and Member of the Work and Professional Training Committee of CRESS 6th Region. Experienced professional in Health Policies; Social Assistance and Business Policy. Interested in the areas of Social Service in Companies, Occupational Health, Environment and World of Work.

Graduated in Social Service from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1988) and specialist in Public Policies and Social Movements from UNESP/Campus de Franca (1998). She has a master's degree in Social Service from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2002) and a PhD in Social Service from the same university (2007), where she works as a professor at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences. She has experience in the area of ​​Social Service, working mainly on the following topics: social service, professional work, management, social management, public policy management. Leader of the Research Group on Socio-Environmental Management and the Interface with Social Issues - GESTA/FCHSUNESP/Franca. Deputy leader of the Study and Research Group on the Educational Dimension in Social Work - GEDUCAS at UNESP/Franca. Coordinator of the Undergraduate Course in Social Work (2018-2020).
