Professional ethics and employing institutions
An anlysis from the social worker code of ethics

This article investigates, based on the 1993 Code of Professional Ethics (CEP) and the previous Code of Ethics (1947,1965,1975 and 1986), the relationship of the social worker with employing institutions. Therefore, part of the legal imperative of this instrument to the liberal professions and their particularities towards the social worker. Subsequently, it analyzes this regulation through the chapters, articles and sections of the Codes that deal with the relationship between professional and employer institution. The analysis of this of this material makes it possible to presentation the change in the way the profession started to respond to both institutional requirements and professional goals during and after the renewal process of Brazilian Social Work.
