The adolescents in conflict with the law’s look at social context

Abstract

This article has derived from the research named “Adolescents deprived of freedom: tracing law-conflicting trajectories”. Herein, the discussion is about the context where the adolescents, who perpetrate infraction acts, are inserted, especially as to social aspects. An analysis is made of the youngsters reports, collected upon interviews, about the factors that they consider contributions for perpetrating law violations: use of drugs, life in the community, group of friends, relations with the work, the family and the school. Reflection takes place about the life’s conditions of these persons, by pointing out the need of guaranteeing their rights. The drawn conclusion affirms the importance of investing on social policies, mainly those regarding family and community life and education.
