Pró-pobre ou empobrecedor: qual a contribuição do crescimento econômico para Alagoas?

This article analyzes the relationship between the economic growth and the poverty in Alagoas, all data was obtained from the Atlas do Desenvolvimento Humano no Brasil for this state of 1991 and of 2000. For that, it was estimates the elasticity of the poverty with the economic growth for the micro-regions from Alagoas. The result was a negative relationship between these. After that, using curve “growth-poverty”, we can observe that in most of micro-regions has been having a growth from income and the poor. In those provinces the economic growth was positive, but was been having a reduction from income per capita to “quintis” more poor, and an increase for the more rich “quintis”Downloads
