Resumen

This study aimed to identify and record Nymphalidae specimens from Rio Grande do Sul, and upgrade existing species lists for this family. The material used in this study consisted on mounted and labeled butterflies from collections, literature review and insects collected in the field. Results showed the presence of seven species of Apaturinae and 16 of Charaxinae corresponding, respectively, 36.8% and 14.5% of the related for the Neotropical region.
