Bananaquit: <i>Coereba flaveola</i> Linnaeus, 1758 nest composition (Birds: Emberezidae)

Abstract

Were analyzed the material used in the nest construction of the bananaquit (Coereba flaveola), of 14 nests were found in Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. For each one are given information about the frequency and mass of the composition divided into categories: vegetable material (100% - 186,50g), human material (71,42 % - 3,68g) and animal material (85,71% - 2,96g).
