Abstract

The feeding of the birds have been an ornithological problem, due to the difficulty of specific meeting and detailed information on the subject. In the period from 12/31/2003 to 01/02/2004 were made eventual observations on the alimentary items presented by house wren to their nestlings. The nest was in the roof of a house in the municipal district of Erval Grande (27°23'S, 52°35'W) - RS making an observation to the about 1.5 m of distance. In the total they were four hours and 25 minutes of observation, totalizing 93 samplings. The class INSECTA represented 93.8 % of the total of alimentary components registered.
