Abstract

The demand for the teaching of specialized languages has grown exponentially. In the area of aviation this demand has increased even more specially after the ICAO requirements in relation to the proficiency in the English language that pilots and flight controllers should prove from March 2011 on. Given this context, this work presents a reflection about the contexts where specialized communication happens and their differences in order to rethink the practices conducted in the classrooms of ESP. Elements are considered as the different roles of players in different contexts and factors that affect communication.
