A humilhação do povo judeu no Pretório de Pilatos Estudo exegético de Mateus 27,27-31

Resumo

O artigo apresenta uma interpretação da cena da humilhação de Jesus no Pretório de Pilatos conforme a narrativa mateana. Construo e apresento o argumento por meio de um estudo exegético que segue estrutura utilizada e demonstrada pelo biblista Milton Schwantes. Considero detalhes da narrativa, atentando para elementos de continuidade na cena da crucificação em si. Atento para a forma como os judeus estão inseridos no Evangelho, bem como o contexto histórico judaico e romano em que se dá o narrado. De modo especial, observo comparativamente uma cena de deboche semelhante ocorrido em Alexandria conforme relato de Fílon, exegeta judeu do século I d.C. Tanto no relato do alexandrino quanto no relato do Evangelho, encontramos a humilhação alheia por vias de uma encenação teatral improvisada. A partir dessa leitura, construo a proposta central do estudo, assinalando que a humilhação de Jesus é narrada como sendo, simultaneamente, a humilhação de todo o povo judeu.
