IS AMBIGUOUS THE CONCEPT OF “EXISTENCE” IN
Abstract
The current paper aims to demonstrate that there are three different concepts of “existence” in Martin Heidegger’s Being and Time. They are: [1] existence as the hole of Dasein’s being; [2] existence as one of the constitutive moments of Dasein’s being, care; [3] existence as ex-sistence, in which the transcendent character of the world is highlighted. This conceptual change, at first, seems to hold true the objection of some philosophers on the conceptual vagueness and ambiguity of the phenomenological-hermeneutical method. But, in the end, it will be argued that this objection does not take into account the features of this method and also that it is possible to find out criteria for certain heideggerian concepts, such as “existence”.
