ONTOLOGICAL PROBLEMS CONCERNING FICTION: RESEARCH ABOUT THE ONTOLOGICAL APPROACH OF FICTIONAL BEINGS ON AMIE THOMASSON
Abstract
Thomasson writes about fictional objects and their ontological support, the literary works of art, as a seed to investigate the metaphysical dualisms and to propose a multidimensional system of ontological categories. The research about fiction leads the author to the constitution of a system of categories that may be able to provide a better ground for discussion about the objects that have usually been relegated to a second plan in metaphysical tradition, like fictional beings, works of art and cultural objects. Therefore, the account of the contributions of the author will begin with the clarification of her ontological system and, subsequently, with the report of how she thinks the problems concerning fiction in this context.Downloads
