Abstract

The objective of this research is to demonstrate the possibility of a feminist theory of justice based on the theoretical complementation between Martha Nussbaum's capabilities approach and Nancy Fraser's three-dimensional theory of justice based on participatory parity. As an emancipatory proposal for women in contexts of inequality, the case of female genital mutilation is used as a basis for reflection, so that in the first two sessions of the article the theories of Nussbaum and Fraser are demonstrated, and in the last session, the a fictional society called Lemândia in order to clarify how this theory of feminist justice could be applied in a practical reality.
