Abstract

In his long historical tradition Christianism has naturally a public dimension. This article analyses Christianism’s origin on Christ’s person, known through the testimony found in the New Testament. Some titles attributed to Jesus reveal the public nature historically confirmed by the historical context in the first century with names as “Messiah”, “God’s Son”, “Son of man”, “King of Israel”. The public impact of Christ’s doctrine in his origin is verified in his proposal of a historical and eschatological future, is confirmed by the condemnation to death by Pilate, the Roman procurator.
