This paper presents the structure of the document of Pope Francis, demonstrating its interdisciplinary approach articulating politics, economy, ecology, theology and ethics. First, the scenarios of the planet are characterized by analyzing the environmental levels and the emerging theological and epistemological debate. After that, the ecological crisis is diagnosed, having its roots and causes in technology and anthropocentrism. Then it makes explicit the proposal of an integral ecology in which everything is related and interconnected. Finally, considering the context of plural societies and diagnostics of the environmental crisis, the paper suggests an interdisciplinary ethics to solve the planet’s problems.
