Abstract

The experience of baptism with the Holy Spirit is central to the classic Pentecostals. This reflexion intends to verify which are purposes of this experience to the millions of Pentecostal believers spread all around the world. Through an analytical bibliographical research it is confirmed that this experience has as its purposes the promotion of the Gospel, the happening of miracles just like as it was at the primitive church time as mission of the community. The baptism with the Holy Spirit leads the Pentecostal believers towards an overture to unexplainable manifestations, beyond the human reason understanding. The article concludes that the power that the Holy Spirit gives to the believers is the capacity to serve the neighbour.
