Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The text follows the journal's formatting requirements according to the "Guidelines for Authors"found in the "Submissions" section.
  • It is mandatory to fill in the Article Cover, with the article information. This document must be forwarded separately at the time of submission.

Author Guidelines

  • The journal adopts the updated reference standard of ABNT (ABNT - General Rules).

  • Articles submitted to Famecos magazine cannot exceed 60 thousand characters. If it exceeds, it will be rejected with the indication of a new submission with a maximum of 60 thousand characters.
  • Files submitted for submission are in open text format (Word).

  • PLEASE ENTER ALL REQUESTED DATA ON THE METADATA PAGE. If not informed, the article will be rejected.
  • The text must contain title, abstracts and keywords in the languages indicated by the journal - Portuguese, English and Spanish.
  • In the case of texts originally written in a foreign language, they should contain title, abstract and keywords in Portuguese and other languages of the magazine's interface.
  • The author must keep his registration profile updated and, for submission of a new text, fill out the information items below under “Conditions for Submission
  • Information about the authors should contain the following data: full name with the correct spelling; ORCID (see: orcid.org); affiliation: institution, city, state and country (in no case should affiliations be accompanied by the authors' titles or mini-curricula). These, when present, should be published separately from affiliations as author's notes); email; complete physical postal address of the corresponding author, which may be the institutional one, provided at the end of the article; research funding source (if any); potential conflicts of interest (if any).
  • Authors may indicate at the end of the article: a) acknowledgements; b) mini curriculum: academic and professional training after its approval for publishing.
  • The place of figures and tables should be indicated in the text, and these should be sent in separate file, with program identification and version.
  • The bibliographic information is correct and in accordance with the standard adopted by the journal - ABNT.
  • The contribution must be original and unpublished and may not be evaluated for publication by another journal; if not, justify in “Comments to the editor” when submitting the text in the portal. We do not publish articles based on bibliographical compilatons.
  • Publication of papers is subject to approval by reviewers. The originality of the treatment of the theme, the consistency and rigor of the approach and its contribution to the thematic line of the publication are taken into account. The names of the reviewers will remain confidential, and the names of the authors before the reviewers will also be omitted.
  • Articles published in the annals of congresses in the area must undergo changes before being submitted to the journal. The title of the articles must be modified so that the reviewers do not identify the authors through a simple Google search.
  • Spontaneous submission of articles and subsequent acceptance for publication automatically implies the assignment of the rights of the first publication to the Journal. Intellectual copyright remains with the author. Any subsequent reproduction, by any means, may be made only by prior agreement between the Journal and the author and with proper citation of the source.
  • The concepts issued in the works are the sole responsibility of the authors, not necessarily reflecting the opinion of the Editorial Board or Editorial Council.
  • Citations of foreign works must appear in the same language as the text and the original in a footnote.
  • WE REQUIRE DOCTORAL TITLE FROM THE AUTHORS, ALLOWING THE COLLABORATION OF A PHD STUDENT, WHEN THE ARTICLE IS A RESEARCH REPORT THAT JUSTIFIES THE PARTNERSHIP.

Articles

The section publishes research reports of all types and bibliographic essays of a theoretical nature, as long as they represent exploration/discussion of an unprecedented and relevant problem in the journal's area of activity. Articles containing a mere literature review will not be published, and the Journal will be responsible for defining it.

Section Features:

  • Research reports must have PhD/s by main authorship, reaching a maximum of three, as long as duly justified.
  • Bibliographic essays can have up to two authorships, the main one being the holder of a doctoral degree.
  • The maximum length is 60,000 characters.

Review

The section publishes bibliographical studies on works that appeared in the last two years. The reports must be critical and analytical, offering clarification and discussion of the materials reviewed. Essentially informative texts will not be accepted and should be sent to the "Bibliographic News" section.

Section Features:

  • Articles must be of a single authorship and have between 20 and 25 thousand characters.
  • Editors reserve the right to suggest changes in form and content.

Interview

The section publishes interviews with experts in the journal's area of expertise that add value to the knowledge and understanding of their academic contribution to the field. Revista Famecos does not publish journalistic interviews.

Section Features:

  • The interviews must be preceded by a text informing the interviewee's profile, justification of the work and context of the event.
  • The interviewers must be no more than three.
  • The maximum length is 60,000 characters.
  • Editors may suggest small changes in form and content, in order to adapt them to the publication.

Bibliographic News

The section publishes informative reviews about works worthy of attention that appeared in the last two years. The text must be able to justify the presentation of the work, especially in the case of collectively authored volumes.

Section Features:

  • The news will have only one authorship.
  • The section accepts texts submitted by doctoral and master students.
  • The maximum length is 20,000 characters.
  • Editors reserve the right to suggest minor changes in form and content.

Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses entered in the Journal Famecos will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this conference and not available for other purposes or to third parties.
