Abstract

We recorded in this study a Chalk-browed mockingbird nest built inside a roll of wire mesh with 3 m tall. To construct the nest, the birds used large quantities of scrap metal (n = 117, approximately 15% of the nest) with different shapes. The use of metallic material for nest building is related to the anthropogenic items availability in the surroundings and to the opportunist comportment of the specie.
