Abstract

Using a comparative perspective, the present paper examines contemporary research on the terminants of the length of criminal justice in the United States of America and Brazil. In opposition of this field in United States of America, in Brazil research on the criminal justice system is not well performed. In this sense, comparing these two lines of research will allow to analyze the possibilities and limitations that have not yet been addressed by national analysis.
