REGURGITATED PELLETS ANALYSIS OF BURROWING-OWL Athene cunicularia (MOLINA, 1782) AT THE UNISINOS CAMPUS, SÃO LEOPOLDO - RS (STRIGIFORMES: STRIGIDAE).

Abstract

Information of regurgitated pellets are presented of Burrowing-owl (Athene cunicularia)at the campus of UNISINOS located at the surroundings of the city of São Leopoldo - RS. All data were obtained from collections of regurgitated pellets in frequent visits near the nest and resting areas. The pellets analyzed were composed of: animal (88% - 46.73g), mineral (5% - 2.65g); vegetable (4% - 2.35g) and human (3% - 3.37g). Also are presented information on the seasonal occurrence of vertebrates and invertebrates’s fragments in the samples.
