Evaluation of dental decalcification degree produced by differents acids proposed for cleared teeth
Abstract
The purpose of this experiment is to evaluate the level of decalcification between the nitric acid 6% and the cloridric acid 6% suggested for the clearing teeth technique. Forty premolar teeth single rooted were selected, and divided in two groups of twenty teeth. In each one it was used two oclusal films and one periapical, which were submitted to an initial X ray and it was determined a standardization of time, distance, development and fixation. The specims of each group was divided into five tubes with 30ml of acid solution. The mixture was renewed every twenty-four hours and the teeth were x-rayed in each renovation. All the tubes were kept in a box, for the best standardization of handling, and they were agitated manually every eight hours. For the evaluation of the apical third, it was used a millmetrical rule (Prisma brand – Brazil Inc.). The analyzed images were obtained after the third day of acid mixtures immersion. The nitric acid produced higher degree of decalcification, which was corfirmed by T test (Student), which demonstrated a difference statisticlly significant (p = 0,051). UNITERMS: clearing teeth; nitric acid; cloridric acidDownloads
