Evaluation of the pacifers available in the nacional market following the ABNT and ANVISA requisitions
Abstract
The aim was evaluate the pacifers available in the nacional market following the specifications defined by the vigent legislation. The sample was composed by 31 types of 6 commercials nationals marks of pacifers, being adquired for each one 3 examplaries from different fills. It was analysed descriptively the adequation or not of the following aspects: peck, shield, button, pine, ring and packaging, attending the criterias of the pacifers’ construction defined by NBR 10334/2003 of ABNT and the Resolution nº 221 of ANVISA. The pacifers were divided in groups (G), for the peck caracteristics: G1 – universal < 6 months; G2 – convencional < 6 months; G3 – orthodontic < 6 months; G4 – universal > 6 months; G5 – convencional > 6 months; G6 – orthodontic > 6 months. It was verified the inadequation for the items: A – length do peck; B – packaging following the NBR; C – packaging followed by ANVISA. The percentual of inadequation founded for the groups was: A: G2 – 20%, G6 – 11.1%; B: G2 – 40%, G3 – 33.3%, G5 – 40%, G6 – 33.3%; C: G2 – 20%, G3 – 33.3%, G4 – 33.3%, G5 – 20%, G6 – 22.2%. For the others evaluated items: material and form of the peck; the concavity of the shield, quantity and the diameter of the holes, the distance from the hole to the peck and to the borda externa, distance among the holes, the size of the shield; projection of the button; the vetilation hole and the projection pine and width and length of the ring it was observed the adequation for the analysed pacifers. It was concluded that the biggest part of the pacifers were qualifited as adequate for the construction requisitions, being the inadequation frequentetly registred for the packaging item.UNITERMS: pacifiers; standards; postmarketing.
