Abstract

We aim to contribute to the debate on social minimums and human needs in present-day Brazil, where the initial decree of the Bolsonaro government addressed the Minimum Wage. This article is grounded in the Marxist Theory of Dependence, utilizing the concept of superexploitation, along with the categories of social minimums and human needs. The exacerbation of life and labor precarity, coupled with the erosion of rights, shapes a context that further magnifies the expressions of the social question. In the midst of this, there lies a reflection on professional engagement, with the goal of uniting forces and resistance to confront the encroachment of capital upon human lives and nature.

Letícia Chimini, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil

Social Worker (UNISC, 2005), Master in Regional Development from the same university (2015) and PhD in Social Service (PUC, 2021). He has extensive experience in the area of ​​Social Service, working on various public policies, with an emphasis on themes relating to the agrarian issue. She is currently a researcher at the Laboratory of Studies on Marx and the Marxist Theory of Dependency at UFRJ (Lemarx-TMD/ESS) and provides advice and consultancy for social and trade union movements.

Patrícia Reis, AMURT-AMURTEL, Porto Alegre, RS, Brasil.

Graduated in Social Service from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), has a Bachelor's degree and a Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos - UNISINOS, Specialization in Third Sector Management from Fundação Irmão José Otão – FIJO, Master's degree and a PhD in Social Work from PUCRS. Research on Civil Society Organizations, Civil Society and its relationship with the State in Public Policies, Gramscian Theory and Marxist Dependency Theory. She is the Municipal Councilor for Social Assistance of Porto Alegre (2023 -2024), and director of the AMURT-AMURTEL Association, an institution that works in education, social assistance and human rights policies.

Vanelise de Paula Aloraldo, Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), Matinhos, PR, Brasil.

Social Worker at the Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA), São Borja campus. Among the research and study focuses are childhood, adolescence and youth in family and institutional care, human rights, public policies and structural violence. She is currently a substitute professor at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR).
