Peculiarities of the work of a military police

Abstract

This article aims a reflection about the peculiarities of the work done by the Military Police (PM). For that, it is necessary to describe the elements which are part of the PM, studying their main elements. After that, there is a research of the work done by the military police officer, characterizing the environment where this activity is executed, paradoxically permeated by a mix of routine and the uncertain. Besides the critical aspects related to the uncertain and routine, there is also the exclusive compromise and dedication (including the sacrifice of the own life) and the exposition, while serving ostensively as a police officer. Following that, a question arises about the violence on the job, which determines the police social uncovering. Finally, there are researches which give the necessary visibility to the referring aspects according to the violence on a military police officer’s life making it one of the most exposed professions exposed to the uncertain limit of life.
