A sociology of the voices that move in the improvisations of the viola singers of the Sertão pre-election period

Abstract

More than a poetry that re-root the most diverse memories of the sertanejo people, the activity of the singing viola became also a responsible of the political longings of this people. This qualitative and quantitative research, based on a cut of a Festival of Singers occurred in the city of Buenos Aires (PE), in August 2018, investigates - according of the sociology of Antonio Cândido – the relationship established between the triad author-poetry-public, henceforth A-P-P, during the improvisation performances, in a pre election period for the 2018 elections. For the performance and voice models follows that of Zumthor (1993). On the other hand, the ethnographic bases are in Geertz (2008). The data reveal that in the dynamic established in the triad A-P-P, in the improvisations, complex and subjective relations to happen between singers and the public, with this being able to interfere in all moments of improvisation.

Especialista em Linguística Aplicada ao Ensino de Língua Portuguesa (UFPB - 1996); Especialista em Direito Processual Penal (Universidade Gama Filho - 2010); Mestre em Ciências da Sociedade pela Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (2003); Doutor em Linguística (Capes 06) pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Linguística - PROLING - da Universidade Federal da Paraíba; Atualmente é professor Efetivo da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba, lotado no Campus I, Departamento de Letras e Artes (DLA) do Centro de Educação - Campina Grande (PB).

Possui graduação em Letras pela Universidade de São Paulo (1972), mestrado em Letras (Teoria Literária e Literatura Comparada) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1976), doutorado em Letras (Teoria Literária e Literatura Comparada) (1983) e pós-doutorado (1990) pela Universidade de São Paulo, sempre com a orientação do Prof. Dr. João Alexandre Barbosa . É pesquisadora do CNPq desde 1988, com vários projetos concluídos e em andamento, dedicados à literatura e cultura brasileira, especialmente de tradição oral, muitos deles como bolsista nível 1 do CNPq. Também coordenou projetos com apoio de outras instituições (CAPES, IPHAN, BNB). Tem desenvolvido várias atividades de pesquisa voltadas para o patrimônio imaterial brasil eiro e d e preservação de repertório de mestres tradicionais, entre os quais o projeto de pesquisa Registros de resistência: a cultura popular tradicional em palavra, som e imagem (2ª. fase), concluído, e Saberes e fazeres não institucionais, iniciado em 2013, com a primeira fase concluída em 2016, ambos com bolsa do CNPq. Integra o corpo docente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística da Universidade Federal da Paraíba, em que desenvolve pesquisa, ensino e orientação de doutorandos, como professora colaboradora aposentada. Tem experiência na área de Letras, com ênfase em Teoria Literária, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: cultura popular, literatura oral, cultura brasileira, literatura popular e literatura brasileira. Participa do Grupo de Pesquisa do CNPq: como líder, junto com Marcos Ayala, no grupo Memória e Cultura, da UFPB.
