Contribuição ao conhecimento taxonômico de Apostolepis flavotorquata (Serpentes, Elapomorphinae)

Resumen

O exame do holótipo de Apostolepis flavotorquata (Duméril, Bibron et Duméril, 1854) e de maisde cem exemplares, permitiu obter muitos dados sobre esta espécie que é mal conhecida, bem como avariação dos caracteres e a descrição dos hemipênis. É uma espécie de grande porte atingindo quase ummetro de comprimento sendo a espécie-tipo do gênero. Apresenta o padrão de coloração das espéciespróprias do domínio Cerrado (vermelha uniforme), às vezes com uma estria escura vertebral; o tronco éatarracado, cabeça curta e larga, focinho redondo, não projetado, e a cauda um pouco afilada. Aproxi-ma-se do grupo nigrolineata. Ocorre no Brasil central.

ABSTRACT
Contribution to the knowledge of Apostolepis flavotorquata (Serpentes, Elapomorphinae)
The examination of the holotype, and more than one hundred specimens of Apostolepis flavotorquata(Duméril, Bibron and Duméril, 1854), furnish many data on this bad knowledge species, and allows toredescribe it, with the description of the hemipenis. It is the type species of the genus, attaining almostone meter of length. It presents the pattern of coloration own from Cerrado domain species (uniformlyred), sometimes with a dark vertebral stripe; the trunk is thick, head short and broad, and round snoutnot projecting beyond the jaws; the tail is a few slender. This species is closed with the nigrolineatagroup. It occurs at Central Brazil.
