Abstract

This article aims to reflect on social protection models established in various parts of the world, aiming to understand the relationship they establish with the family and whether the policies offered enable the relief of family burdens and responsibilities. This is bibliographical, qualitative research, analyzed using the content analysis technique. The main results demonstrate the global trend of familism as part of the expanded reproduction strategy of capital, based on local particularities and realities. Therefore, it emphasizes the responsibility for ensuring the social well-being of individuals by their own families, even without the conditions to carry out these duties, given the overload of women, disassembled social policies and profound changes in the world of work.
