Novas modalidades de sitcom e o fenômeno confessional

Este artigo resgata as origens do formato sitcom, ou comédia de situação, e discute suas novas modalidades que fazem uso da linguagem documental, bem como a prática confessional explorada por parte de suas personagens. O título comentado é The Office, produzido para a televisão norte-americana. Pretende-se compreender o porquê da escolha de permitir que as personagens enderecem a câmera diretamente e o que isto significa sob a perspectiva da teoria do imaginário coletivo, de Michel Maffesoli, relacionando este hábito ao que é possível encontrar atualmente em reality shows e na internet, através dos videologs.
