Ethical reflections about the humanized care in the nurses’ perception

Objective: to understand the meaning of the ethical process of taking care, under the group of nurses’ perception at a public hospital in Minas Gerais, Brazil Methods: a qualitative study, of phenomenally approach which the following guiding question: What is your perception, while nurses care of the ethical process of care? The data of that research were collected in the period from January to February of 2008. Starting from the analysis of the data, obtained through depositions, it was possible to make the elaboration of three categories: the team’s humanization: influence in ethical taking care; the respect to the patient, family and team; the need of space to discussions on taking care and the ethics. Results: for the nurses, in the nursing team there’s a fault in the ethical process, and in many times in the care act. The need is noticed of fomenting the ethical discussions in the process of taking care, with the participation of all that are involved so much directly as indirectly. In this perspective, taking care will be seen in all your dimensions in consonance with the caretakers' dignity and of being taken care. Conclusions: it is essential to remember that the awareness that a relationship with another is needed, the ability to be sensitive, to live with the differences, are attitudes of solidarity. It represents a value, it encourages the creative potential, the critical spirit and interaction nurse and patient.Downloads
