Abstract

This study investigates how the theme of innovation associated with networks has been discussed in Brazil. To this end, articles published in the Proceedings of the Annual Meeting of the National Association of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Administration (EnANPAD) were revised to identify the authors, works and most referenced matters related to the theme of innovation associated with networks. The motivation for this study arises from the perception of the different approaches identified in the literature to address the issue of innovation associated with networks. The methodology used was bibliographic and bibliometric research. Through electronic searches for keywords related to innovation in networks and subsequent verification of the content, articles that addressed issues associated with networks and innovation and that made reference to works of authors related to this issue were selected from the editions from 2005 to 2009 of EnANPAD. The results indicate a growth of references to Open Innovation, compared to a non-growth of Innovation Networks and a decline in the Innovation Networks theme. The study indicates that the expression coined by Chesbrough, Open Innovation, has functioned as a shelter to contain the various issues of innovation associated to networks, that were once scattered.
