Technological innovation: an analysis of scientific publication from 2001 to 2010

Abstract: The promotion of scientific development on technological innovation has been encouraged by governments, companies and research institutions around the world.However, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD, 2006), little is known about it. This study aims to examine what were the discussions on the theme promoted in the period 2001 to 2010. This study identifies the issues that received major attention from researchers. Organized in a bibliometric survey, 170 papers for scientific journals, classified by the CAPES Qualis system with “A” concept, were selected for analysis. Supported by Alceste software, two main themes of discussion were identified: one that
examines the economic issues of technological innovation with two distinct foci, organizational strategy and environmental aspects and another that looks the social, cultural and politic aspects of technological innovation.
