This papers aims to show the current status of sanitation in the State of Roraima, involving water supply, sewage and garbage, comparing the situation with other cities and states. It was found that 97% of urban households in the state are served by piped water and have garbage collection, surpassing the national average. However, most of the garbage collected is deposited in the open without any treatment. The results are bad in relation to sewage services found in only 17.3% of urban households of the state, against 68.7% for the average Brazilian. In Roraima, 80% of the sewage flow into septic tanks, and nearly 3% for other forms much less hygienic. At the state level, since there are resources available for the universalization of water and increase the network of sewage. However, resources for investment in that service is not yet sufficient to serve the entire urban population of the State of Roraima.Downloads
