The power of weak ties: the strategies of the connectors on the dynamics of network capitalism

Abstract

In the last decades the economical sociology is playing debates about the use of the net concept in the analysis of the economical relationships. They stand out the proposition of the concept of "embeddedness" of Mark Granovetter (1973; 1985) and the notion of "connexionism" for Luc Boltanski (1999). While Granovetter proposes the concept as analytic tool for perception of the relationship among agents that are been worth of weak links in the social fabric for us to establish new connections and opportunities of performance, the critic of Boltanski points out that the current capitalism puts back the exploration in the measure in that organizes the individuals in a flowed net divided among connectors endowed with mobility and the ones that are under the constant tension of the disconnection for the action of these connectors. This rehearsal discusses the theoretical reach of these perspectives in the measure in that is been worth of the net category to articulate the agents' action and institutions in the explanation in the social dimension of the economical actions.

Jandir Pauli, Faculdade Meridional (IMED)

Doutor em Sociologia pela UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul), Mestre em Sociologia pela UFRGS (2006), Licenciatura Plena em Filosofia pela Universidade de Passo Fundo (1998) e Bacharelado em Filosofia pelo Instituto de Filosofia Berthier (1997). Dedica-se à docência universitária desde 2005 quando iniciou suas atividades na Universidade de Passo Fundo (UPF) e Faculdades IDEAU. Desde 2006 é professor na Faculdade Meridional (IMED). Nesta instituição coordenou a Escola de Gestão Pública (2007-2010), exercendo as funções de Coordenador da Especialização em Gestão Pública, do Curso de Tecnologia em Gestão Pública e do Observatório de Políticas Públicas. Entre setembro de 2010 e fevereiro de 2011 licenciou-se para realização de um estágio doutoral (Programa PDEE-CAPES) na Université Sorbonne (Paris IV), França, sob a orientação do Prof. Dr. Philippe Steiner. Como pesquisador, atua nas linhas de pesquisas: Trabalho nas sociedades contemporâneas (CNPq/PPGS-UFRGS) e Estudos organizacionais contemporâneos (IMED). É também pesquisador do RILESS: Red de Investigadores Latinoamericanos de Economía Social y Solidária. Em suas pesquisas desenvolve temas como: comportamento organizacional, trabalho e identidade social, cooperativismo, associativismo e economia solidária, significado social do dinheiro e dimensão social dos mercados.

Carlos Costa, Faculdade Meridional

Possui graduação em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa, mestrado em Agronomia (Fitotecnia) pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, doutorado em Plant Science - Mcgill University, Canada e MBA em Gestão Empresarial - Fundação Getúlio Vargas-RJ. Atualmente é professor de Estatistica e Experimentação Agrícola, Metodologia da Pesquisa Científica e Empreendedorismo no Instituto de Desenvolvimento Educacional do Alto Uruguai - Faculdade IDEAU. É professor da disciplina de Métodos e Técnicas de Pesquisa em Administração, da Faculdade Meridional - IMED. Tem experiência na área de Agronomia, com ênfase em Fitotecnia. Atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: Morfologia e arquitetura do sistema radicular por meio de imagens digitais, arquitetura do dossel, absorção, uso e utilização de nitrogênio, interceptação da radiação solar pela comunidade vegetal, estatística aplicada (utilização de software para análises estatísticas) e Metodologia da Pesquisa Científica.
