The review aims to elucidate the main aspects of the book Brasileiros no exterior: voto emigrante e participar política [Brazilians Abroad: Emigrant Vote and Political Participation], written by Denise Frizzo and Bruno Mascitelli. The result of a doctoral research, the book is not the thesis, but the consequence of a reorganization of this research carried out with an update. This process carried out by the authors to publish the book allows for a rare work due to the themes worked on in a field of analysis that is still restricted, but necessary, Brazilian emigration. The introduction is given by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Celso Amorim, and the book is divided into six chapters. In this review, the aim is to present the themes and highlight what is most relevant and original, the link between emigrants and political participation.
